I offer pedagogical support to surfing schools in general, trusting that surfing can be taught without pushing students on the waves and preferably not depending on the leash. My work starts from surf swimming, evolving all the way through bodysurfing and board surfing (depending on students’ goals). Surfers willing to improve their surf reading ability and/or to expand their comfort zone within bigger seas are welcome, and so are surfing enthusiasts and even bathers interested in interacting with the beach scenario as a means for outdoor physical activity. I hold a degree in Physical Education by the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), and another one in industrial engineering by the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ). I am also a military fireman beach lifeguard by the Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Brigade (CBMERJ), currently serving at Barra da Tijuca’s 2nd Maritime Division.
